What is a Ge­halts­ab­rech­nung? What does it look like?

A pay slip (Gehaltsabrechnung or Lohnabrechnung) shows how much you earned, and what contributions you have paid. You get a Gehaltsabrechnung from your employer every month.

You can use this document to find your tax ID and your social insurance number. You can also use it as a proof of income when you apply for an apartment.1
