A vacation certificate (Urlaubsbescheinigung) is a document you get from your employer when you leave your job. It tells your next employer how many vacation days you have used this year, and how many vacation days you have left.1
Your employer must give you an Urlaubsbescheinigung if you ask for it.2 Ask for it in your resignation letter.
