A vacation certificate (Urlaubsbescheinigung) is a document you get from your employer when you leave your job. It tells your next employer how many vacation days you have used this year, and how many vacation days you have left.1
Your employer is required to give you an Urlaubsbescheinigung if you ask for it.2 You can ask for it in your resignation letter.
