When you make a tax declaration, the Finanzamt sends you an income tax statement (Steuerbescheid or Einkommensteuerbescheid) by post. It shows your yearly income, how much income tax you paid, and how much you still owe.
You can use this document to find your tax ID and your Steuernummer. It’s also a proof of income.
