Seasonal plates (Saisonkennzeichen) are vehicle licence plates that are only valid during certain months. For example, motorcycle seasonal plates for the summer months. You can choose the dates when you register the vehicle.
Seasonal plates make your car insurance cheaper. You only pay for the months that you can drive.
Out of season, you can’t drive your vehicle, and you can’t park it in public spaces.1 You must put it in storage or find a private parking space.
